Björnstad - Fredrik Backman

· Tags: bookI’m not sure how to review this book. It’s the first in Fredrick Backman’s series about a small “hockey-town” in Sweden; where we follow different characters, all related to hockey in some way. It starts of with a team, excited to be in the semi-finals, a big moment in the town’s history. All my family members, and a friend of mine whom never reads, said that this book series is the best book ever and that I had to read it. While I cant say this is a bad book - it’s a great book - it didn’t make that cut to me.
While I do think I have a somewhat brad range of books in my book list, it’s clear my focus is on fantasy and sci-fi. I believe this book would be considered a drama, a genre I haven’t looked a lot at before, and unfortunately I did not find it to be an favorite.
That being said, I did find it to be an enjoyable experience reading this book, and I will recommend it to anyone looking for a realistic book or just drama. It may not be that great in a non-Nordic language, it is written in Swedish and has a Swedish setting. I have not yet decided if I will read the next book in the series - Vi mot er. It was an great ending which clearly builds to the next book without recurring it. The next book is either that or Astrid Lindgrens Mio min Mio
